Actuarial Valuation/ Gratuity Valuation

As per Accounting Standard 15 (revised) issued by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India the following set of companies fall under its purview:

  • All listed companies (including under process of listing)

  • Companies with turnover of Rs.50 Crores or more (Excluding “other income”)
  • Companies with borrowings including public deposits of more than 10 Crores.

  • Worksheet should not contain hidden row, hidden column, formula, blank cell, blank row/ column etc.
  • If you are getting the valuation done for the first time then kindly send the same information in different worksheet as on closing date (31st March, 20**) of previous financial year to get the values at the time of beginning of current valuation period. This is mandatory for revised AS15. Charges will be extra to carry out valuation for beginning of period.

Alternatively, if available then the previous year Actuarial Report would solve the purpose.

  • Date should be in Excel date format – dd/mm/yyyy. In date format comma, dot & dash should not be used
  • Name should be in one cell and NOT separated in different cells as first name, middle name and last name.
  • Do not provide information like Designation of employee, HRA, Bonus, Conveyance, DA etc. Create single column of monthly salary amount on which calculation to be carried out.
  • Salary figure should be in number format up to 2 decimals and should not consist of text (Rs) or other characters (/-).
  • Provide different excel work sheet if different certificate is to be issued for different category/ division/ group/ company & period. Valuation charges will depend upon number of certificates/ valuation done.
